Online therapy available across New Jersey & Pennsylvania

Compassionate, structured support to help you process trauma, reduce emotional overwhelm, and feel like yourself again.

Healing from trauma is possible—and the right support can make all the difference.

If you’ve experienced trauma—whether from childhood abuse, emotional neglect, a toxic relationship, or a single overwhelming event—you may feel stuck in survival mode.

You might feel overwhelmed by anxiety, disconnected from your emotions, or unsure how to trust yourself or others. These are all valid trauma responses.

The good news is: healing is possible.

I specialize in helping teens and adults gently process trauma using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a structured, research-based approach that supports meaningful and lasting recovery.

What Is Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)?

CPT is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and related symptoms. It helps you understand how trauma has impacted your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs—and gives you practical tools to shift the patterns that keep you feeling stuck.

Developed through decades of clinical research, CPT is considered a gold-standard treatment for trauma and is backed by organizations like the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Goals of CPT

CPT is designed to help you:

  • Understand how trauma affects your thoughts, body, and emotions

  • Reduce emotional distress and intrusive memories

  • Decrease avoidance and emotional numbing

  • Feel more calm, safe, and empowered

  • Improve self-esteem and rebuild relationships

  • Live with greater clarity and confidence

What Happens in a CPT Session?

CPT typically consists of 12 weekly sessions, each about 50 minutes long. Sessions are collaborative and structured to provide both support and meaningful progress.

In our work together, we will gently explore common trauma responses and how they show up in your life. We’ll identify “stuck points”—unhelpful beliefs connected to your experiences—and use structured exercises and writing prompts to begin challenging those patterns.

Over time, you’ll practice developing more balanced and flexible ways of thinking. You’ll also complete brief between-session reflections to deepen insight and reinforce progress.

Topics Covered During CPT

As part of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), we explore how trauma may have shaped your beliefs across several important areas of your life, including your sense of safety, your ability to trust others and yourself, feelings of power and control, your self-worth and identity, and your capacity for intimacy, connection, and vulnerability.

Together, we gently identify how these beliefs may be showing up in your day-to-day life—often in ways that feel automatic or hard to shift—and begin working toward more balanced, supportive ways of thinking.

My Approach to Trauma Therapy

I provide trauma therapy to teens and adults of all genders. While I specialize in supporting women and adolescent girls navigating complex trauma, emotional abuse, and attachment wounds, I welcome individuals of all identities who are seeking healing.

I work with clients experiencing PTSD and trauma-related symptoms, childhood or developmental trauma, relationship trauma or emotional neglect, as well as medical trauma and chronic health stress.

While Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is my primary approach, I recognize that it isn’t the right fit for every stage of healing. For some clients, we begin with nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and stabilizing symptomsbefore moving into CPT or other cognitive-based trauma therapies.

If you’re unsure whether what you’re experiencing is trauma—or you simply know something doesn’t feel right—you are welcome here.

? Frequently Asked Questions

What makes CPT different from traditional talk therapy?
CPT is a structured, research-based therapy focused on how trauma changes your beliefs—and how those beliefs impact your emotions and behaviors. It’s more goal-oriented than traditional talk therapy, and deeply effective for treating trauma and PTSD.

Do I need to talk about every detail of my trauma?
No. CPT focuses more on how your trauma has affected your thinking than on retelling every part of the event. You are always in control of what you choose to share.

How long does trauma therapy take?
CPT is typically 12 sessions, but some clients benefit from longer-term support. We’ll tailor your therapy journey to your needs.

Is online trauma therapy effective?
Yes. Research supports the effectiveness of online CPT. Many clients find it comforting and empowering to access care from the safety of their own home.
